My 69 GTX clone is a 505. I went with TrickFlow 270 heads and a good roller. Motor not yet installed, but it made 713 hp/709 torque on the dyno. I am looking to run low 10's and will be street driven Has a gear vendor OD.
Yeah we've built a handful of pump gas 505 engines with the TF270 heads and they always end up right in the low 700 range with a street roller type of cam. Higher compression and a more aggressive cam they'll go 750+ hp, but street builds are usually right at the 700 mark. An honest 700 hp is a bit scary in a street car! I rode with a customer in his B body and felt happy to get back to the shop! That car would pick up and move sideways when he rolled into the throttle.
