As said before, check the frame on that Vette for rot. Another vote for it being waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy overpriced.
I rebuilt a '79 in 1987 for a buddy of mine and it already had a lot of rust in the chassis.
But you are in northern Illinois where the state takes it as a challenge to see how much salt it takes to rust your vehicle in the least amount of time.
