Are you going to do this regularly and for pay? Or are you just going for hobby type of work? Whole cars or mostly panel work?
I see very good paint jobs come out of $150 guns. And I see some real crap come out of expensive guns. There is a lot more to a good paint job than just the gun. The gun is really only one piece of the puzzle.
Same goes for paint booths.
How experienced are you now? If not real experienced, think about an affordable gun to learn on. There will be mistakes and maybe even accidents such as dropping. May as well let a less expensive gun take that use and abuse. Then after you get handy with it, step up to a better gun and keep that old one for back-up.
For an affordable gun, especially for panels, the DeVilbiss Starting Line is a good gun.
