I used to take my mid-13 second 1971 Charger R/T to the track (Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY) pretty regularly from about 2003 to 2010 for test and tune. I swear it was quicker than at least 2/3 of the cars there if not more. The 330 horsepower Camaros and Firebirds would beat up on me and maybe a few other random cars, but that was about it.

Friday night I went to test and tune at Empire for the first time in a decade. My car is still basically the same, and I got my doors blown off by just about everything there, almost all of it modern. Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros, Lexus, Cadillacs, Corvettes, etc.. The cars I raced ran 11.96, 12.93, 12.41, 11.92, and 12.45.

I took a little consolation in having the oldest car (I think) there other than a 69 Roadrunner that I think ran 11s at 115 or so and we honestly might have been the only 2 pre-1975 cars in the street class.

The times have changed and I have not kept up!
