My thoughts that there are many guys believe what they see and don't verify where the cam is after using a set like those.
I've had several of the early BB true roller sets that had the cam gear dot between teeth instead of aligned with one, moving it one way was 12 degrees retarded and the other way was correct shock puke
My main message about this is to always verify any change you make to any motor up scope
