For EFI I'd put the regulator next to the fuel cell and just feed a high pressure line to the front. Not so sure I'd do that with a low pressure line though. Too many variables at play when you only have 5 or 6 psi. When you have 60 psi a long dead head stretch from the rear to the front doesn't seem to matter.
