Depending on how bad it's worn, you can turn it down and use a Turbo 400 input bushing in the transmission to take up the loose space. The OD of the 400 bushing is the same as the 727, the ID is smaller. Select in New York did this for me on a 727 converter a few years back. I've had zero issues with it, and Ed told me he does this all the time on Torqueflites.
