A related question, when 911 and caller ID first started, I was under the impression it was always advisable to call 911 upon initial hook up of a land line to confirm they had correct address/other info correct. I did it a number of times at different locations, the 911 operator seem slightly confused, so it must not have been common, but it did verify my info and they not send any 1st responders out. Since that was not an true "emergency" I would hope that use would still be exempt.

Screw ups happen, and you never know until you call them.
