My car, 1970 Cuda S/P car that weighs right at 2800 Lbs. with me in it had a set of old Goodyear 16x33x15 on it when I bought it mounted on 15 inch wide rims, those 8 yr old tires like between 7.0 and 9.5 lbs. pressure depending on the track, 1.27 to 1.34 60 ft. times.
I put a new et of M/T 14x32x14 stiff walls on the car and they liked from 7.0 to 9.5 lbs. also. My car is nose heavy, 56.4 % (1479Lbs. on the front and 1230.Lbs on the rear tires with me in the car)on the front tires and those tires work okay. I changed them last year to a set of Hoosier 13.5x32x15 D06 slicks per Hoosier recommendations and they liked between 7.5 to 9.0Lbs pressure but they don't always stick well with out a long burn out down
I'm going to change them to a new set of Hoosier part # 18370 DO6 15x33x15 and hope they wok better than the smaller ones did luck
I have thought about buying a set of Goodyears instead of the M/T or Hoosiers but I'm going to try the Hoosiers one more times and hope they work better than the other ones did work
On your deal I would try lower pressure, 1/2 lb. at a time, and see if the reaction times and 60 ft. times get better scope twocents
