Wow... those pics... the 5-bolt heads hitting the pan? Shouldn't be! What brand oil pump?
Hmm...it's been a few years, but my logbooks says that was a SealedPower 224-4166V pump, which has the '72HV' tag indicating it's a high-volume pump, thus thicker pump body.
