Wow, 3000-3500 on the highway would drive me nuts, it's all about personal preference and what you can tolerate I'm sure.
Now if I can just find my pesky driveshaft vibration at 63-73 mph with the Tremec 5 speed, I've tried pinion angle shims in both directons and even bought a new custom driveshaft, also had all 4 tire balances re-checked, still vibrates. I miss my Duster lol.
