I did it two different ways for the same car.
5.9 mag with the stock EFI but aftermarket computer.
Painless was looking for a test car to create a plug and play for the 5.9's before the hemi swap was popular.

A couple of years back I started having issues, so I switched to megasquirt controller.

More for the instant start up and driveablility than anything else.

I tried to do it on the cheap. Probably 600 or so into it the first time around, pumps lines, sending units etc.
put another 600 into it the second time around, added a surge tank, instead of cutting up my new tank.

today you can be into a new system for right around my total, maybe a little more.
