Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

Since there is no VIN on this transmission case then there is no way to tell what it came out of. Is the case restamped with the Six pack part number? Why does it have the six pack part number with no VIN?

This transmission was the weak link in the drivetrain.

I have a 70 Challenger R/T 440 SIXPACK automatic with Super High Performance axle package.

The original transmission failed at 30K - was rebuilt

It failed again at 60K - was rebuilt

It failed again at 89K - was replaced

I'm sure many others had it fail super early and got a replacement

I've run a"lot" of transmissions very hard over the last 50 yrs, cars that were street driven and cars that were not, never had anything close to that ! shruggy

I know what you are trying to say but I have THREE 70 V code automatics and all THREE are missing their original transmissions.

I have searched for 672 transmissions for 30 years - they pop up very rarely.

The STOCK 672 just did not cut it.

I've abused my share of 727s and it is best automatic IMO but for some reason the 672 got toasted quickly
