Have it detach all connecting portions not associated with installing into the car (when it's all ready to go) if you were putting it in from underneath. That ways it's ran, broken in, fine tuned, then ready to drop the car on. If you're going to make one, why not make it so it's ready for install after?





The issue I see with that is what if the bottom of the motor leaks? The point of a test stand is to allow easy visual checking and access to anything needing repair.
Also, that means the car has to be that far apart to use the stand. Not feasible for a spare motor, truck, rod, etc.
It would allow test running the transmission and cooling lines too though.
