Depending on the diameter of the wire used you may need a receiver groove in the block to make the O rings work correctly
Most of the new Fel Pro race head gaskets come with a built in stainless steel fire ring enclosed in the gaskets, your suppose to use a receiver groove on them also, most racers don't
