The ball joints are the same as I recall. the catch is the bolts need to be the old ones. the new ones don't go all the way through.
but yes to be safe use the old ball joints from the 66.

you need new hoses and pay attention if you have or ever plan on putting on a sway bar, mount the calipers to the rear.
The brackets stay on the side they are on, the spindles swap and so do the calipers so the bleeders still point up.
