I have seen some people pre-plan and leave open area's for hoist pads and what not... All ok if you are the person that did it I guess and actually insulated beneath the tubing which most people forget to do... They end up with a system that never shuts down and melts the snow 4' feet out from their shop exterior wall. smile..
If you are buying a shop built by someone else, its really something to think about.. I know a couple of people with 4 post hoists that they can't pin down to the floor, every other tool they buy has to be bench mounted. When I had my dyno in one of those shops, we had to try and bolt it through the wall and it moved around with the hoist.
I really like overhead radiant heat for shops..


I insulated where the floor was going and I tie wrapped
the tubing to the wire mesh then mapped the tubing so
nothing was moving.. and yes I thought out this job...
when it comes to concrete you get 1 shot so you have to
thin it out
