It doesn't matter what he does.........the POINT was, if it needs that much timing to run, it's a bad combo. If he is good with it fine, but a cam change might make a world of difference and it make a lot MORE power. Guys change parts all the time. Maybe he doesn't KNOW that if it needs that much timing, it's not very efficient..........Now he does and might want to change something.......or maybe not. Why does it hurt to point it out.
