Is there any performance benefits of the RE over the RH to justify the ~$800-$1000 controller?
Not really as the RH uses a hydraulic gov and the RE uses an electronic gov. So the RE needs a controller to read the output shaft speed sensor and the gov pressure sensor. The controller has to duty cycle the gov solenoid to control gov pressure. On the RH is all done with the gov weights like on the 727 and 904. Ron
