My problems started on my 70 Cuda when the CD player/radio would power on and off as the engine RPM would change. I have measured the voltages at several locations. Battery voltage before starting is 12.8. Voltage at battery after starting, 15.45. Seems to be the same at the back of the alternator. The amp gauge acts normal, goes up about half way for a while, then backs off to just on the positive side after a couple minutes. Voltage regulator is known good and grounded. Battery known good. I may not have ever suspected any problems had I not had the issues with the radio... From what I have read, the voltage shouldn't be that high?? Anybody got any ideas?
