It is a collector car. As it sits, it could be run in vintage races. Or probably any other day. It just wouldn't be competative. It was raced for one season and then stuck away somewhere. I was contacted about the car back in January 2010.

The car is a D/Dart. One of the 50 cars built. It's actually car #33 of the build. To my knowledge, it is the only D/Dart that competed in the Trans Am series in 1966. All the other Darts that were competing were 270's.

The small lettering on the front fender of the 1966 photo reads "Prep by PATTNO auto body" and under that is Bob Howe.


It's a shame that people that restore these cars don't show the "as found" or in progress restoration pics to show the lineage of the car. Maybe they get lost as passed through owner/dealer or maybe they just don't want anything to scrutinize a sale. Playing dumb is a safer bet I guess rolleyes
