Here's what the current cam looks like:

About the tiniest cam known to mankind with 181/192 duration at 50 and .364/.399 lift, something like that.

The CS665 stock 360 dual exhaust cam is 203/203 and the lift is .410/.410. Also LSA is 110. This would be a good cam if you're looking to keep running those gears. The Enginetech version is ~$65 on Rockauto. Or the smallest of the Comp XE line or Lunati Voodoo line.

That 216/216 cam is an old Cam Dynamics chevy lobe grind, dating from the late '70s. They liked the single pattern cams. It would be a much better cam for a 360. The only reason it may work on a 318 would be the ports in the 318 style heads are pretty small so velocity is up, and a longer cam timing MAY help fill the cylinders.
But I'm predicting the engine'll be plenty doggy until around 2400 rpm. You'll be shifting down for hills. You could probably advance it 6 degrees ahead of split overlap.
