Which body style are you working on? I've only change them on A bodys, which requires that they slide out the back of the trans. cross member first before removing the LCA so you can then slide them out the front after seperating them from LCA(you need to remove the LCA strut at the same time when removing the LCA I ended up scoring mine by using vise grips and shop rag wrapped around the bars and driving them out with a hammer Don't do that I did file the marks off with a fine file Looking back I should have removed the retaining snap ring in the trans cross member and then remove the nut on the LCA stud and use the nut to help drive the stud backwards out of the engine K member which would have driven the torsion bar out of the tranny crossmember Don't forget to back all the tension off the torsion bar adjuster screw first before starting IHThs
