We pulled into the same Texas rest area that we spent the night in last year on our return trip, and went to bed. I explained to Rachael that we would have to be moving at first light, and run hard all day if we were to make it to Phoenix without lights. She was a trooper, it was hard trucking all day Monday, and she kept up and never complained. We stopped for fuel and grabbed snacks only three times, and made it to within 30 miles of the house before we had to resort to the four ways again.
