Total and complete bullsh!t story. Typical dealership. A check engine light will only go off when the proper erase procedure is done.

Find another fuel station: 9 times out of ten switching fuel will give a check engine light. You are getting stale fuel from somewhere.

By the way, emissions may be covered for lifetime on this truck. Check with 1-800 Dodge to confirm. None of this should be costing you a cent.
