Hello, It is actually a 195 stat. Temps normally run about 195 - 200 depending on the ambient. I've unhooked my electric fans and let it get to about 230, same noise. Jeff

I can`t consider piston slap "normal" w/modern stuff within spec. Sounds like a problem to me..........

same here Dom. I wouldn't run a motor with piston slap it's not normal or good.

Exactly, and on my last freshen up my pistons(JE)are a bit looser than recommended and there`s no slap that I can hear anyways...........
