how the piston fails really doesn't matter, if your tune is off and you get detonation, bad things happen regardless of cast vs forged, the pounding that the bearings take can force you to have to rebuild the engine, regardless of what happens to the pistons.

hard metal goes down the intake and starts pounding a piston, again, doesn't really matter at that point if you have a forged or cast piston...it's time for an engine rebuild.


I will echo that for the mild build the original poster is looking at building, I don't see much of a reason why he NEEDS forged pistons over cast or hypers.

it's not like he's talking about feeding it 15 psi of boost with meth injection
