I drilled and tapped the bottom right passage for the oil filter inlet, and took a good look at the two passages for return into the block, and it got me thinking about which one I should use.

Even though the center large hole is bigger than the 3/8 threaded hole that is usually plugged, the oil has to make quite a sharp turn. I am thinking of plugging the center hole and using the 3/8 hole instead for the return since the oil would be getting a straight shot at the passage....what do you guys think? and what is everyone's reasoning for using either hole?

I know it may not be a big deal, but if im sending oil outside my block I want to restrict its travel in the least amount possible

Matt, that the idea, your on the right track.
Take as many 90 deg turns out as possible.

I used the center port because it was there and ready
and never had any issue with flow to 8200 rpm but
the straight route will work fine also
