If you left the timing gear dots at 6/12 0'clock with timing slit at TDC on the timing tab you could turn the dampener 1 turn till the slit is back at TDC & at that point #1 is on compression/firing & internally as Buildanother said the timing gears would now be at 12 & 12 0'clock. then at that point you can still clock the rotor via the intergear shaft anywhere & going with the OE location is I believe a good move & start routing wires CCW from that #1 position & with that set I would definitely check phasing by backing up the timing slit a bit to your desired initial so you can set the dist magnet/reluctor position then check rotor phasing
