Transmission shifting problems. It sets a trouble code right after the engine is started. The MIL is on and code P0748 is stored.
Average Reported Mileage:
152015
Tests/Procedures:
1. Remove the transmission relay.

2. Jumper terminal 30 to 87.

3. Check the voltage on the Violet/White wire at pin 8 in the White Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector.

4. If there is no voltage, remove the jumper from the transmission relay connector.

5. Unplug the 8-pin transmission connector.

6. Check the resistance between pins 1 and 5 on the transmission. It should be about 3-5 ohms.

7. If not, the transmission pan will have to be removed to check the governor pressure solenoid and the wiring inside the transmission.
Tech Tips:
The governor pressure solenoid is also called the variable force solenoid in the service manual.
