I ended up assemblying my engines and later for other racers and freinds becuase of having some of the better engine shops and speciality shops in SO CA (at that time) doing good work the first time and some of them the second time but not all the time. I bought the mikes and other gauges and instrument checking fixture to make sure that when the crank grinder said that the crank was ground on the high or low side I could verify that, also to verify clearances. It's amazing when you bring some parts back that need fixing after you checked tham and found them not up to specs, the shop owners almost always call you wrong until they measure it with me watching them I have switch around on five different machine shops up here in cenral Oregon trying to find a excellent machine shop to use, not there yet I use to have to travel close to 100 miles in SO CA to get good work, up here it is a little further Close is not good enough
