I had to reword my other post about the solonoid so others may not understand this reply however, there is nothing to back feed. If you contain the output of the alt to the battery and no other circuits, it can't feed anything else, specificly the ignition. Not trying to start anything here, but I don't see the need for the solonoid. Unless the voltage is feeding through the field wires??? I've wired mine like this, however I use a single wire alt. Maybe thats why it work for me. Hmmm...




Your exactly right. I use one also to make sure that all the voltage is off especially if I forget and i'm messing around at the alt.
