Here's the problem. The truck is about 30 miles away stored in my Parent's shed. I can't get to it during the week and I have limited time to look at it on the weekends. The truck was supposed to be moved 2 weeks ago so we could pack everything in for winter. So at this time I need to take the risk and bring a computer next time I go there. If it doesn't work then I can do some more diagnosis while I'm there.

Back to the OP. I need to get a computer but I don't have a lot of time. So it sounds like I'm better off with a used unit so I don't have to run it to a dealer to be programmed.
