We drove one way more than we should have on the street with a 3/4 fill. Steel TA heads and a 340 block. It was very cool on water temp. But, sit at a few stop lights and you could see the oil pressure getting low at idle. I'm told all you need to do is run an oil cooler and keep going. From my experience I would agree that would probably work fine.
