I would go with main studs and align hone the mains because the caps can change with studs. As far as bearing I can't see any reason not to just run a standard P bearing set. Drill all the gallerys. If you are only turning 7,000 you may want a high volume depending on your clearances and oiling system. If you are turning higher and have the oil restricted save some power and run a standard pump with a port job. You shouldn't need any hard block. Nothing wrong with a short fill as it will dampen detonation.

Can you explain the short fill & dampen detonation thing....




Take a simple can of juice. Bang on it with a hammer. You will feel the resonance of the hammer all over the can. Fill the can with block filler and hit it with the hammer. Note some block fillers are better than others. Can you tell the difference.
