You can ditch a large amount of weight by trimming the K like the SS/HA cars and going to coil overs.There nothing lighter than factory A arms.What it really needs and is seldom done is to change the upper A arm attachment points,. This corrects the geometry and keeps the wheels straight thruout their travel. In my opinion the factory had it right when they did the early pro stockers like mine. They used coil overs , a light tube replacing the K and added a Pinto rack. All else are factory parts just reposition. It still works fine 35 years later on my car at 158 mph .
