If this is a race only car and the rules allow it why not bite the bullet and jump to a strut front end. Very simple and very light.

So how much weight can one be saving by converting over to a strut front end over a torsion bar setup?

I didn't weigh the stuff I took out of my car but I would think it's got to be at least 150 pounds, maybe more.

wow
150 lbs
=10 th and a half

Well you can ax the K frame, how heavy is that thing? The lower control arms, and torsion bars have to be at least 50 to 75 pounds, stock brakes and spindles, the upper arms don't weigh much but if it's a P/S car there goes a bunch more. The Strange struts don't weigh much at all, neither does a Pinto rack and the CM control arms weigh next to nothing.

Cool I'll be watching this post for further info on this as I'm also considering upgrading to a tubular front.....
