If this is a race only car and the rules allow it why not bite the bullet and jump to a strut front end. Very simple and very light.

So how much weight can one be saving by converting over to a strut front end over a torsion bar setup?

I didn't weigh the stuff I took out of my car but I would think it's got to be at least 150 pounds, maybe more.
