I have done it myself, more than once. Like I said there is a huge difference between my cars that I do drive all the time. One has connectors and one doesn't. I can tell by driving them and jacking them up.

How many have you installed and driven???

I did the 3X2 through the floor on a 71 back in the early 80s, it was no better than the 71 I have now in the pictures above. It's a waste unless your gonna do roll bars for the track.
