Im assuming its possible to get the cover back on the forks with the transmission in the car, just a very hard and annoying procedure I imagine?




It's not a too bad. I used Permatex High Tack to hold the gasket to the sidecover, then used a long thin screwdriver to guide the forks onto the gearshift levers. I then started anchoring the sidecover with the rear middle long sholdered bolt with no lockwasher to make sure it seat well in the countersunk hole, continued around the sidecover and came back to the middle rear bolt and installed the lock washer. Torque all bolts to 15 ft/lbs and you should be good to go.
