The hesitation is from a lean condition, and it happens 20 to 25 ft out. So, it could be the squirter duration may needs to be lengthened. Try a green accelerator pump cam, it has a good long pump shot. Try position #1 first, if it's still lean, use position #2 on the accelerator pump cam.
On my carb, I blocked the rear power valve, added the rear screw-in jet extentions, and a notched float to clear the extentions. I also got the quick-change fuel bowls. They make jet changes pretty simple.
