Is -4.7 pinion angle too much for a street car with super stock springs? The -4.7 is from parallels and not driveshaft. Trying to decide if i should run it or shim it so it is less. Thanks

It's 4.7 degrees down from "horizontle"? I think you want to see how much lower it it in relation to that end of the shaft. What's the shaft angle?

Here is the specs of all, trans is down 1.1,driveshaft is down 4.5 and pinion is down 3.6. So this (i think) gives me a pinion angle of -4.7. The rear u-joint with a total of driveshaft and pinion is 8.1. I am thinking of adding a 2 degree shim to raise pinion, but I have heard that the super stock springs like more angle due to spring wrap?

How much further "down" is the pinion than the rear end of the shaft. If the shaft is 2 down and the pinion is 5 down that'd b a "neg 3 deg" pinion angle

Your pinion angle is -2.5. I'd leave it alone unless you'll be putting slicks on it.

Does your car develop a vibration on decereration or braking?

If your transmission slopes downward 1.1 degrees (toward the rear) and the pinion slopes downward 3.6 degrees (toward the front) you have a 4.7 degree negative pinion angle.

I usually consider 4 degrees maximum, but if your car does not vibrate, I wouldn't worry about it.

Maximum for a street car? or for s/s springs...
