If you have an automotive machine shop in the area, they may have them if you need them right away (or possibly free, depending on the shop).

Just a heads up please place a head on the dowels to make sure the heads set flush on the block after installing new dowels. If the heads and or block have been cut you may have to file down the dowels so they don't bottom out on the heads. 30+ years ago I cracked a very nice ported set of 906 heads because I failed to check this out. lesson learned.

if your working on a big block, like the thread title indicates, those are the wrong dowels.
the link you posted is for small block dowels.

^This.....Use the Moroso offset dowels (37900) and move the heads up towards the valley a bit.

I've always gotten by with standard pins which mopar sells in block hardware kit. Or at least used to. I believe they are .250" Could be mistaken.

[Hint] The guy that told you the Chevy dowels were wrong (Performance Only) almost certainly has the correct ones in stock. [/Hint]

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Are you guys serious. Go measure the shank on a 1/4" bolt.

Is this 0.03 inch shift of the head upward actually effective or a gimmick? Also is this shift small enough that the intake will still seal well?
