I have not seen one - yet. Have you found one? Both colors would be banana, so all you would see are the masking tape lines. A white Challenger with a white bee stripe exists, so does a purple one with a purple stripe.

Is it still in original paint? The others I have seen with the same body paint / stripe color have all been repainted in the past. I would love to see an original example. Any photos or data on the car you can share?
Not all of them.

I have records for the following same stripe combos in my records:
EW1/V9W - White FC7/V9C - Plum Crazy EK2/V9K - Go Mango FF4/V9F - Green
I know Galen also has Black and Banana cars in his records, but I don't have the info for them.

slightly off topic, and nothing personal against the OP, but when did Mopar guys start using codes to describe things? I seem to see it more and more, and I have no idea what the questions are......
Silly question in the A12 forum

I thought there was a black/black car mentioned here on moparts a while back, but the guy never came up with pictures.
There was a black/black car on eBay with a fake tag. Not sure if that's the one that you mean.

Has an original paint car finaly been found?
Not that I know of. I'm pretty sure the paint on mine is original, but not so much the stripe (though it is old). It's over the body paint and is lacquer, not enamel. Could have been done at any time in it's life. Not sure when the black engine compartment and rear panel were done either.

Are we sure that the colors were really exactly the same, and that the stripe color wasn't slightly different?
We're not sure of anything. The stripe list does call the stripes Go-Mango, Banana, and Plum Crazy though, for example. The paint code for black pinstripes differs from TX9. The white pinstipe paint code is the same as EW1, but I've heard there is other documentation where it is different.

Does this mean you're going to fix that Challenger now Ken?
The pink one isn't quite done yet. Money is a lot tighter now than when I bought the white car 3 years ago, so I'm not sure I'll ever get that one done.
That's all I know now Tav.

Barry, do you think they would have gone to all that trouble, as opposed to catching it before they painted the stripe and just not masking and painting it?

Yep, I do. The folks masking the stripes most likey just did their job. After the stripe paint was sprayed & baked, the maskers would then do their job & send it for body paint. In some of these cases, the folks removing the masking materials likely had a good chuckle when they realized the paint colors were the same.
Hopefully some original same color examples show up someday so we know for sure though.

Stripe was painted first then masked and then the body was painted...
Stripe was gloss same as body...
