Your sprag is toast ... pull the pan and see what is in there.

Popping the trans out is not fun but probably will be needed. If you do your own trans work ... it is not that big-of-a-fix.

BTW ... how far up is Douglas Lake ?

If the sprag had failed it wouldn't pull in Drive but would in manual low. (assuming a fully auto valve body)

yes,its a stock trans with full auto valve body.i do my own trans work.i checked the clutches and steels and bands before i put it in,they looked good.ill find out when i drop it.wont take but 30-45 minutes if im in the right mood.doc,i dont know where douglas lake is,im rite next to norris, but i do know they opened the flood gates at norris dam,so its got kinda high.

JK ... he says that it is a no-go in manual low.

1bad .... Jacksboro !! .... I must have had a "Rocky" moment .... I have been to J-boro and Norris Lake. During that ROCKY MOMENT I placed J-boro near Douglas Lake...which is instead near Sevierville and Gatlinburg. BTW ... how are property values on N-lake?

I know, that's why I don't think it's a sprag; more likely a rear clutch problem.
