Ok I'll give it a try. Mine is a street hydraulic roller so thats why I tried it here. Thanks
If it is a street roller are you sure you need a bronze gear there alot of rollers out there that don't need a bronze gear now. Check the cam specs it will tell you if you need one.

It depends on what the camshaft is made of, steel shaft must have the bronze gear, cast shafts do not.

Yes it's a comp cams roller and it is a billet core. http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=1443&sb=2
that seems like a mild roller i couldn't find where it says what core they use or what gear is required, I know the paper catalog used to say what gear you needed. Are you sure that is a billet core might want to call them there website info stinks i can DL new products catalog but not there standard catalog todouble check sorry for derailing this thread...

Somethign to think about too... The bronze is also known to wear fast in some instances. I've personally seen one engine that eats them in 5K miles, and another that has 20K and is barely worn. Those were both MP oil pump drives but just so you know some engines just eat them much faster.
Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I believe all Crane's hydraulic rollers come with a cast iron gear too. No bronze needed.

I'm using a Crane Hydraulic Roller. They advised using a bronze distributor gear and bronze tip fuel pump pushrod.
You're right... I just checked. Big blocks do not have the iron gear. The small blocks all can use a standard drive.
