Thats right boys and girls!!!!! I have decided to accuire the Monster Mopar Weekend Company and with the assistance of Scott Sieveking, Mick and the rest of his team I will continue the Monster Mopar event in Indy. This is going to be a blast!!!!! Its a great event and we are going to do everything we can with your support to continue that tradition, and if all goes well we will have at least 2 events next year!!! Please stay tuned as the story develops!

What about the NSS class? At MMW that was run by Doug Duell and it was an awesome class that would attract 75-100 cars and I know he could not wait to see what was going to become of MMW because of the closing of St.Louis. He moved it to a Bowling Green event. I may be interested in going for a good NSS class

I know the original payout was excellent and am hoping that it will be close to the same. I am sure a lot depends on if you can get any sponsors. I also can say that when it comes to running an all Mopar event, I make it a vacation and if I happen to get some coin, great, if not I had a great vacation. If I was doing it because of the payout, I would stay at my home track.

Josh,
One of the biggest complaints at Osceola is that they only pay back to semifinalists.About 90% of the racers went up to Martin last year instead for several reasons,but the guaranteed payouts and how far back they pay are the main reasons.

You are gonna get more cars if you pay out further. The beauty of Monster Mopar is that it paid real good at the top and it paid back well too.
If you are gonna short change a class make sure it aint Pro. Thats typically 25-30% of your car count for a Mopar race event. Upset those guys and your event will suffer bad the following year. Just my

I have never understood why tracks or certain event try to pay more for a s/p class over a pro or even a street class .Is it that they maybe spend more COIN ,their choice ?
I like to think of it as a vacation also,but I'm not going to travel 5 hours 3 days hotel ,food ,fuel,souveniers ,and put up with the wife not happy for a small purse and only racing for Sundays purse .
You might toss in backbacks also as a way to help the purse and help payback further .
Also if you have a race Saturday and I win it ,then win Sundays race I get a BONUS .
The CC also ran same weekend as div 3 in past .Just set the date a so be it ,those will have make that call .

The Monster Mopar Weekend has been our family vacation spot for the past 5 years. My dad even spent his 80th birthday in the pits in 09.
Anyway's, I like your idea about buybacks. Maybe to first round loser's only? I mean 1/2 the field gets to go home after the first round anyways. Offer first round loser's a chance for a buyback and put those monies in a seprate jackpot for them to race for. Then run the buyback cars between the normal rounds. As everyone knows, the deeper you get into normal rounds, the more time the track sits empty between rounds whereas the buyback cars could fill that void and spectators can enjoy more racing than waiting. Just my .02

Eric, in '09 we were short on both sides and I did let 2 low 8 second door cars in the field on the condition that they dial 7.99 or faster. That year Monster Mopar was scheduled against something Division 3 was doing in Ohio. I learned a lot in the six years I ran MMW, it is VERY eye opening to be on the management side. I thought racing my car was stressfull.............  Try standing in a room full of hardcore, 7 second racers who have supported your event for years and telling them the dragster and door car fields will have to be combined. One of the worst moments I have ever had at a racetrack.

I have been racing quick races for the better part of 20 years dragsters and door cars and I can honestly tell you I don't care about running slower cars digs or doors. What chaps me is a incomplete field,it is not the car it is the driver YOU must be on your game too beat anyone.The only person with an advantage is the driver who races someone who does not have a handle on his or her car.We need to remember the economy is in the toilet and money is tight so allot of cars are on blocks lets not let are "ego's"(Im too cool to run someone who don't have as much money as me)get in the way of a great time and pretty dam good pay.Lets help out all we can to get threw this first year and make it great over a period of time.before you know it the bump will take care of its self.Remember more cars = more prize money do you want to be known for winning a quick 32 with some killer dead on drivers for 5000.00 or a quick 17 for 2000.00 where the cars ran all over and the race was won by luck because there was not even enough money to prep the track.I have a 235 inch spitzer 4-link 6.0 cert car with race pack,msd dig7 ignition,indy 596 with b1-mc heads, missile dry sump,top dragster trans,fogger,base plate kit,what I feel is a top shelf car and worked hard for 20 years to get it.I AM BETTER THAN NO ONE!!! and will race anyone with a safe car.LET THEM RACE AND THEN CHEER FOR THEM IN THE FINAL IF THEY PUT YOU ON THE TRAILER TO GET THERE is the attitude that will bring this race to greatness!! I know of at least 15 7 second rides with the same attitude as me and we will be there racing anyone and everyone who thinks they can whip us.When I was younger some of the older guys voted raised the bump to get me into the race and I WILL do the same for anyone trying there best to get there.

The schedule is almost done, I actually owe mark a phone call so he can finish it...
All show car pre registrants get an additional weekend pass for a spectator and racers can get in the track on thursday for pre registering
Friday there is a gamblers and some grudge racing in the evening

OK-----i'm planning on going to this race---DO i have to pre-reg or can i just pay at the gate ????
i had health problems for the last race @ marion co and couldnt go to that one---

i'm just checking--because i cant take off friday--from work, can i show up saturday morning--pay,and race----i'll be running 10.5 class.
is the 10.5 class running on saturday only ????
i've been looking for a flyer with the times on it--no luck--any help please.

This class is dot tires, legal exhaust, full interior, etc. It is designed for street legal cars, NOT race cars. We're not going to kick you out if your plates are expired, or the back seat is missing because the car is tubbed.....but it is for STREET cars, you get the idea.

I don't know how or if they will be segregating the cars as they come in the gate. Indy is a pretty huge facility so space won't be a problem. Even if they initially direct you to the show car area, you could probably move later.

To be more clear, Super Pro, Pro, NSS, Hemi, & Trophy will make time runs Friday and Saturday. The most likely run order on Sunday will be:
Pro - NSS - Super Pro - Street - Hemi - Trophy.
Gates will open at 8am and time runs at 9am.
If there is something more specific you are looking for, let me know what it is and I will answer you.
