You can use any spring that has up to aprox 1.56" dia. and 1.88" installed height. If your just replacing what you have, comp 911 are comparable. If your trying to match a cam, your cam manf. can select one. I'm running Isky 9935 wiyh a solid roller cam.

where the valves replaced or did you still have the same valves that came from edelbrock? don't get me wrong i want to do the right thing i just don't want to spend a lot of money. (i think most of us feel that way)

Run the same valves. You can upgrade to your locks and retainers without spending a lot of $.

did u have to cut the seat pockets for the smaller id of the inner spring? or did u just shim for the difference in installed height between the edelbrock and isky recomend, i think the difference is only .010" is that enough to worry about?

Hi no there is enough room that the springs fit fine and i did not reshim them. i checked a few to compare and thye were so close on mine i did not think it was the worth the trouble to shim the new springs. i used the stock valves but went to a 10 degree reatainer/keeper that set up worked fine for the 3 years i had the car untill i sold it.thanks mopar 65

I have done several sets of eddys small and big block. What has worked every time on big block is adding a red or blue comp inner spring to the original spring with comp retainer #741-16 steel or 732-16 titanium. This is to get 340-350 at .600 lift and 150-160 seat pressure. The original springs are borderline to stiff for hyd cams and borderline to weak for solid cams. The original springs from edel. will work the way they are if not revving over 6000 rpm. If the edel. springs are new, the blue should work, if the edel. springs have a couple hundred runs on them try the red inner. red part#975-16, blue part#974-16. These are around $30 at summit. Steel retaners and locks will be around $80. tit. retainers will shock you at around $320 with locks.

Likewise for me, just went through my collection of old springs until I found a set of inners that gave me the right pressure. When I pulled the 312/590 out and went with the 304/640 ultradyne, I upgraded to crower spriings and Titanium retainers.

I ran those for a while with a .600" flat tappet cam. Fit like a glove

Same here, Eddie valves, 1.6 rockers with .600" net lift with Comp 928's, stable to 7000+ rpm. Do yourself a favor and have the valve guide clearances checked, mine were tight and I have heard MANY reports of the same.

My eddy heads had the same tight valve guide issue as well.
