PowerWagonDude OP enthusiast Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 266 Seattle Wa	I am working on a custom project that requires radiator clearance. It is a 1939 Plymouth with a 1987 Dodge 360. Is the early 273 water pump snout shorter? Or is there a short water pump available?

EDIT If you need even more room than that not sure if the MP race (early 273 type) one or there's an aftermarket one also w iirc the outlet on the pass side if either is shorter than the OE 273 pump & not likely & even if they are it wouldn't b much but you can mill the front of the tim cover for some gain there and that's actually a good move as it reduces the vane to the flat recess in the t cover which will make the pump far more efficient & adj your bolt/washer/pulley alignment to compensate of course and an anti cav plate on the vanes works good Last edited by RapidRobert; 03/17/11 11:43 PM. live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

Posest super stock P Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 711 Montana	I am looking for a shorter pump for the 408 in my Dakota. The one I have is off of a pre 68'and is cast iron. It does fit but the bottom outlet is on the drivers side. If you have any links that would be great! Thanks Shawn
