Harlan Sharps use a true roller bearing on the shaft I would not use any shaft other than the ones that Harlan Sharp send out with there rockers. I have a set on my Indybrocks that fit and work great.
70 duster full chassis super pro 416 CNC Indybrock heads 727 w/brake

Send your 273 rocker arms to Rocker Arm Specialist. www.rockerarms.com is the address. Not sure if Gary is still there or not. He is the guy to talk to and he can set you up. He'll bush the rockers, correct the ratio, install new adjusters, etc.

The new Comp rocker arms look good. I have an older set without the bushings. I need to get one of the newer sets so I can check them out.
No need for bannana grooves with those. The supplied shaft with extra thick and meaty too.
A little worried they will bleed too much oil. If they do, we are thinking of replacing necked down head bolt for rocking oiling with a standard bolt. We'll see soon...

BTW, regarding stock 273 adjustable rockers and OOTB Edelbrock heads - my buddy Jack showed me how ALL the rocker arms need clearancing on one of his customer's heads. They all hit the retainers. Just FYI. Another point - I got an RAS SB rocker arm setup (SS, bushed, roller tip), but every time I tried to recommend it here, I got pounced on by people saying the HS (aluminum, needle bearing) are better, so I just stopped recommending it. The Comp used to be a little iffy with no bushing, but I guess the new ones should be ok.
